Edmonton Trip

Wow, I am really behind in blogging, but I always am.

In October I went to Edmonton with my best friend Desiree and her little guy Maclin. A stop at the West Edmonton Mall was a must. It was mainly the reason we went! We mainly just walked around, and we watched the sea lion show. It was a blast. Maclin had so much fun. It's crazy that he's already 9 months old. STOP GROWING! He just happens to make me way more baby crazy!

I gave up on Thankful posts.

I really did try, but I went to Vancouver for a week and get way too far behind. It doesn't mean that I'm not thankful, I'm just lazy. I did see this post today and I wanted to try it too!

I'm weird because:

I don't like veggies..except for potatoes.
I'm a crazy cat lady. legit.
I'm 21 with a 7 (almost 8) year old.

I'm a bad friend because:

I live in a different country than all my friends.
If I don't feel like talking to you, I won't.

I'm a good friend because:

I will drop anything to help you.
I love to buy presents.
I'm a good listener.

I'm sad because:

I don't have too many friends up here in Canada land.
I don't make nearly enough money.
I'm not a very good cook.

I'm happy because:

I have a very loving husband, who loves me no matter what I look like.
I have a great support system.
I have a job I love.

I'm excited for:

Christmas. Christmas. Christmas.

Day 10. Baby!

Today I'm thankful for my new little niece Chloe. Tom and Crystal have been struggling for over 10 years to have a baby, this little miracle baby was born last week, and I couldn't be happier for them. She really is the little miracle baby, and I can't wait to see her on Friday. I get to go to Vancouver for the first time with Randy and his sister Tara this weekend. I really can't wait!

Thirty Days of Thankful: Day 2-8

I admit I'm horrible at blogging. I had something come up and I've been off the computer for a while. Here's my list!

Day 2: I'm thankful for my parents. They're always there for me and pick me up when I fall down.
Day 3: I'm thankful for my cats. They're hilarious, and they are so precious (yes, I said that word) to me. I love them so much!
Day 4: I'm thankful for my brothers and sisters. That includes my sisters in law! They're all hilarious in their own ways, and I love them all so much!
Day 5: I'm thankful for my bed. It's nice to have somewhere comfy to sleep!
Day 6: I'm thankful for Desiree. She's my best friend, and my shoulder to cry on. She has a pretty cute baby too, and I love my godson soooo much!
Day 7: I'm thankful for my car. It gets me from a to b, and it's a very dependable car!
Day 8: I'm thankful for Randy's and my job. Without them we'd be on the street! :(

Thirty Days of Thankful: Day One

I just stumbled upon the idea to do "Thirty Things I'm Thankful For" for November. I've already had Canadian Thanksgiving, but I think I'm still okay to do this one. Everyday I'm going to post something I'm thankful for.

So today I'm thankful for my husband! It's kinda obvious why I'm thankful for him, so I'm just going to post a picture of him :) Love you babe!

Pumpkin Carving (and some cookies!)

We had our Halloween weekend with Annaleen last week. We went to my parent's house and carved pumpkins and made sugar cookies. It was definitely a lot of fun. Annaleen LOVES going to "Jeanne's house" as she calls it. She loves my mom so much, and why wouldn't she? My mom always has little presents for her and does things like makes cookies for Annaleen even though my mom can't even eat them! She's the best grandma to her grand kids.

These were the end result of our cookie making. Annaleen had so much fun making "hockey pucks" for her dads, and flowers for her moms. It was really fun to bond with her too.

This is after we had gutted our pumpkins. I hate the feeling of gutting a pumpkin. Annaleen is the same way too. Randy just laughed at us.

Of course I made a kitty pumpkin. What else would I make, really?
Annaleen made a creepy spider. Notice Randy's concentration in the back.

My iphone is broken so I have the WORST camera, but Randy spent a ton of time on his pumpkin. We were all sitting around playing and he was probably carving for another half hour or so.

This was Annaleen's favorite part: lighting the candles.

My mom told Annaleen to trick or treat so she could give her candy. Annaleen came upstairs wearing my sister Megan's halloween costume from when she was five. Annaleen is seven, so you can see how small she is for her age. Funny story: I told her to go next door and trick or treat as a joke, but she took it seriously and came running back scared! I guess the teenage boys opened the door and were really confused.

We had a blast, and now I can't wait for real halloween this weekend! :)

Calgary Corn Maze

Today Randy and I went to the Calgary Corn Maze. It was seriously so much fun. We've wanted to start some traditions, and so we headed to the Corn Maze. Since it was Canadian Thanksgiving we both had the day off.

The Corn Maze was pretty large, and we decided we would go through the whole thing!

The Corn Maze had a game called the Maize-O-Poly and that's what kept us going. We had to finish a Monopoly board by finding all the stations and hole punching our board. We didn't really mean to do the whole thing, but after we had all but five we had to keep going. We almost gave up with one left, but we REALLY wanted our "Farmer of the Year" sticker!
This is us with our FINISHED BOARD! We acted like agents, and made it through the whole thing following the whole map. We felt GOOD!

And our proof: our STICKER! It took us an hour, and dang we felt good! The whole park had so much to do, there were trampolines, a corn husk shooter, and a ton of kid games.

We were going to pick out pumpkins, but honestly it's a rip off. So instead we went and picked up some pumpkins to get a picture. Yeah, we're cool. Over all, it was such a fabulous time, and we can't wait to do it again!

This whole weekend was really fun. Randy and I stayed home all weekend (except I worked) and we made all our food, and watched seven. Yes, seven movies. I'm doing a post about it, because I wanted to give my reviews.

So, that was my fabulous weekend, What are your traditions?

Weight Loss.

I'm jumping back on the weight loss bandwagon. I tried before and I did lose quite a bit of weight. Then something horrible happened and I got neck surgery. I seriously couldn't sweat for months. That meant no working out, no nothing. It was the worst. I've been trying to eat well but gradually some of the weight came back. I want to be happier with myself so here I am proclaiming it to everyone so that everyone can hold me accountable that I WILL SUCCEED!!!

I'm currently at 179.5 lbs after eating with my clothes on.
When I lost weight I was at 162.5 before my surgery.

THE PLAN:
My plan is to eat breakfast.
30 minutes of Zumba every morning to start
NO SNACKING! (I'm THE WORST!)
One cheat day a week, but I won't overdo it.

I'm not putting too much pressure on myself, but I want to feel better!

I will be posting my stats every week. Hopefully I can do this!

p.s.

Attention readers?

I've changed my address to www.thecanuckbucks.blogspot.com

It had a nicer ring to it. Kindly subscribe to my new address? THANKS!

My Cats.

This is Theo.

He is the cutest cat in the world. (Don't tell Audrey I said that) I affectionately call him fat cat non stop. I don't think he minds because I cuddle him and rub his tummy. He is not like a normal cat. He loves cuddles, and wants everyone to pet him. Currently he is 16.5 lbs. He used to be 20 lbs but we put him on his new "diet". It consists of healthier cat food and his whining non stop. We inherited him from Randy's old (rude) roommate, and we couldn't love him more. I think he keeps my baby wanting at bay because he's a lot of work. His favorite things are chasing birds, laying out in the sun, and sleeping on top of the couch (and the night stand, and the coffee table, and my head). He is so lazy, but I LOVE HIM. It's why people call me a crazy cat lady!

This is Audrey.

She is three (at least we think?) and she doesn't like people. She's what you would call a "typical" cat. She hates being held, and would rather not sleep anywhere near us. I usually find her sleeping in the weirdest spots. Her regular sleeping places are Randy's chair, on her scratch post, and in Annaleens room when we leave the door open. She loves to be outside, and even has a boyfriend. His name is Felix, he lives down the street and he's kinda feisty. She is way more vocal lately, so now I know she's not mute. Seriously, for the past year we thought she couldn't talk. Randy got her for me after we got married, and she may not be cuddly, but I LOVE her.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know my babies. Don't worry, I sure post lots of pictures of him on instagram. (mjbuck) follow me!

I can't make up my mind.

I quit my job again. I can't seem to be content with any job I've had lately. I'm going back to retail (which is the only job I enjoyed longer than a month) and I'm actually excited.

We have Annaleen this weekend, and man it's been a blast. Randy had to work overtime yesterday so we went to visit.

Ridin' in a big truck

Aren't they the cutest?

Last weekend Randy and I went to the south part of Glenmore Park and it was gorgeous. I love seeing the changing leaves. It's a bummer it's fall because the only summer we really had was August and September. Boo! Oh well, it's the Canadian life!

Good news is it's hockey and Halloween season! My house is decked out for Halloween! I'll do a post about my decorations soon!

Stressed out!

I know I haven't written here in a while, and here is a small reason. (Actually a large reason)

I am in the process of being a CANADIAN!! This is really exciting to me, because it's a huge part of my life, and I just want to be here for the rest of my life! There is seriously SO much to do for it, and its' reallllly stressful in these parts these days. Randy is sponsoring me, so it's a lot more complex than it should be. We have to PROVE our love. Do you know how much work it is to prove you love each other to the government? You'd be surprised... Who knew how awkward this could be. We are contacting people in Randy's life who he has NEVER talked to (example: birth father, step sisters...) Thank heavens for Facebook!

Our summer was pretty fun, but I'm probably not going to talk about it. There was just too much! Here's to autumn, and hopefully blogging more.

As you could tell, I just needed to vent about how stressful everything is. Any stress tips!?!?

Butterflies & Honeycombs

I guess I'll start with sayign that I'm back. I needed to take a short little break to get everything figured out. I've decided to use this blog a lot more. I'm ready to show my life more. I want to show how much fun I'm having living my newlywed life.

Lately, I've been thinking of getting another tattoo. OOh. scandalous! I know that some people are fans of tattoos and that we shouldn't put permanent things on our bodies. But this tattoo will have a huge meaning to me. My previous post was about my grandma passing away. I've decided on a tattoo of a butterfly with either a flower or a honeycomb. I'm getting really excited about the research & all that stuff!

Now an update on what's been going on!

Last week my friend Christa and her friend Stacy came into town on a roadtrip. Calgary was their last stop after going through Glacier and all that fun stuff! They came into Calgary on Thursday night and we headed off to sushi and had an amazing time! I hope Christa can send me the group picture. Afterwards we headed to WICKED!!!! Can I tell you how excited I was? I saw it when I was 17 or so in LA. It was amazing then and it was amazing now!! :)

Friday I had to go to work and left Christa & Stacy to fend for themselves! We ended up meeting up with them that night at the opening night of the Stampede! So many people, and such good food! Unfortunately it got really windy and cold so we headed home after a couple of hours. We went and got ice cream at DQ and watched some tv. It was a great night to just chill and catch up with Christa!

They took off to head home and I just hung out all day.

So tell me what do you like to do when your friends visit from out of town?

Things change quick!

So far it's been a crazy summer. I haven't been this busy in a long time. I definitely let my blog go to the wayside because some bigger things have been happening.

On June 14th my wonderful, amazing grandmother passed away. It's definitely been the hardest thing I've had to go through. I was really close with her my whole life. When my mom told me that she was getting very sick and she was pretty close to leaving this earth I was devastated. I think I was in shock because when my mom called me and told me she had passed on I still didn't believe her. I'd have to say I was floating on a cloud and it didn't set in until her funeral and I saw her in her casket. It still had been so hard on me and I couldn't be luckier with all my support and especially Randy. He's definitely a trooper and has been helping me our tremendously. One of the hardest things is knowing that my grandpa is having such a hard time with it. He suffers from dementia, and it's making it harder. I've just been praying that he can start to feel at peace and be okay.

We quickly got everything in order so we could head to Utah. We had been planning to go next week actually for a family reunion. Instead we just decided to take a week off and make this our vacation. Despite the circumstances we managed to have an amazing time. Randy met 100's of family members and he was definitely overloaded with all my family.

I will be doing a Utah post because it was so much fun and we did SO much.

I love you and miss you so much Grandma!!

Thirty Day Photography Challenge!

I saw this awesome picture on pinterest the other day and I've decided to attempt this 30 Day Photography Challenge. I'm really bad at finishing things that I've started so here goes nothing.

Day one is a self-portrait.
I took this picture last Sunday two days after my surgery. If anyone wants to join in leave me a comment and link up!

All I want is ice cream!

Me really drugged up and just not very happy!
Me today at my parents house.

Friday I had neck surgery to take out a cyst on my neck. I also had to get it taken out because there was pain nerves stuck in the scar tissue. My neck hurt everytime I would touch it and it was getting rather annoying! I found a plastic surgeon who would take out the cyst and get rid of my NASTY scar! I look like Frankenstein for the next two weeks, but I'm really happy I won't have the pain & scar anymore!

Is it weird that I'm so happy about such a little thing?

Cute Kitties.

I was going through my pictures on my phone and realized I take a lot of pictures of my kitties. I was trying to come up with some sort of blog update and Randy suggested I show some pictures of the kitties. So here it goes!

"Check out this bed I found! It's the best!"

"Back off! She's mine!!"
"Dear Audrey, please get your lady parts out of my face. Thanks, Theo."
"BIRD!!!!!"

"STUUUCK!!!"
"just sittin' here basking in the sun."
And last, but not least! This is Annaleen with our very close family friends new baby. His name is Maclin. I'm obsessed with him and Desiree and Tanner can't get him back from me! He's so precious and I can't believe how much a baby loves you automatically! I love my new little nephew!

I hope you enjoyed my kid's pictures. I think they're pretty cute!

PLAYOFFS!

Now I'm going to make this a quick one but we've been busy with the stanley cup playoffs lately. GO CANUCKS! They're about to go into the last period of Game 7 against the Blackhawks. As you can see, we love them around here. Even Audrey got in on the fun. Unfortunately Theo is too fat and we couldn't find a jersey for him. We actually just found the jersey on one of Annaleen's stuffies. It was pretty funny!

GO CANUCKS! 3VENGE!!

I'll be back tomorrow with a big update and some exciting news! :)

I am really sick of being sick. I wish i had a better immunity. I'm sick of staying home from work and missing the moolah! Why me? AH. Well in other news Randy is really good at taking care of me :) Sorry for the blog silence. I just haven't felt like blogging!

March Madness!

We had quite the eventful weekend! We had the little one and so we decided to do a ton of stuff! I basically just have tons of pictures to show it all. First on Friday we just hung out at my parent's house because we were staying there with my sister while they're in Utah. Saturday is when all the fun started! We woke up, ate some breakfaxt (as Annaleen says it). We got all ready and headed to Chinook to see Gnomeo and Juilet. My best friend Sam has a 4 year old daughter named Aleah and we've been trying to get them together FOREVER! Well it finally worked out and they came along. These girls could not have gotten along better! We had some food and headed to the theater. On the way we walked by a balloon man and we HAD to get one. Well Aleah got a dinosaur and Annaleen got a sword. (Side note: these are the girliest girls so it was hilarious that they picked those!)

They had JUST met and started holding hands. So adorable!

Here they are with their balloon toys.

So the movie was adorable! Sam and I were crying like babies. :) We dropped off Sam and Aleah and we came home. We decided to bust out the Easy Bake Oven and made a yellow cake with pink frosting with sprinkles. Here's a pic of the creation!

We relaxed the rest of the night at my parent's and today we had some more fun. We had Auntie Tara (Randy's sis) over for breakfaxt and we decided to buzz Randy's FRO! Here's the before, during and after! (actually I just realized I don't have an after...oops!)

Look how long, seriously!

This is during..look at my focus!

AND OUR HAIR BABY! LOOK!

Over all it was a great weekend. How was yours?
